 Description:  This manual has been prepared to consolidate the numerous policies which have been adopted by the Bureau of Local Roads and Streets, acting for the Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, in administering the Illinois Highway Code. For the most part these policies were originally issued in the form of general letters to district engineers and county superintendents of highways. It is the intent to include herein all major policies currently in effect. In 2005 this manual was superseded entirely by the Bureau of Local Roads and Streets Manual.
