Signing, traffic control devices and flaggers will be provided to aid motorists through the work zones during the initial stages of construction until the Temporary Traffic Signals are placed to direct the motorists. Please watch for stopped traffic and allow extra time when traveling through the work zone. This construction and lane reduction is necessary to remove and replace the existing structure. Work should be completed by September, 2012. The contractor on this project is Thiems Construction Company, Inc. of Edwardsville, IL. Stephen Putz is the Supervising Field Engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation in this area.
