 Description:  Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) officials will join representatives from the Ford Motor Company Fund, The Allstate Foundation and the Illinois State Police at the Illinois State Fair to kick off the eighth year of Operation Teen Safe Driving (OTSD). A news conference will be held on Tuesday, August 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the IDOT tent located behind Lincoln Stage at the Illinois State Fairgrounds to share details of the statewide program, which is also sponsored by the Ford Motor Company Fund. Since 2007, this nationally recognized program has contributed to a 55 percent decline in teen fatalities resulting from motor vehicle crashes on Illinois roadways, including teen drivers, passengers, pedestrians and pedacyclists killed in motor vehicle crashes.
