 Description:  Notices requesting eavesdrop statistics were sent to the state's attorney of each of the 102 counties in Illinois. The participating states' attorneys forwarded to the ISP reports containing the following information: the number of law enforcement personnel involved in the seizure of intercepts; the total cost incurred by the respective departments for all activities relating to the eavesdrop, including salaries, equipment purchased, and other needed resources; and the total number of Illinois law enforcement personnel authorized to monitor, install, and/or possess non-consensual eavesdropping devices and who are trained by the ISP Technical Investigations Unit to participate in eavesdropping. The numbers provided in this report are based on figures submitted by the reporting counties.
