  • Defendant, Damen Price, filed a pro se petition for relief from judgment under section2-1401 of the Code of Civil Procedure (735 ILCS 5/2-1401 (West 2012)), arguing that hisnatural life sentence for first degree murder was void. The trial court dismissed the petition. The appellate court reversed the dismissal and remanded for resentencing.
