  • The Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR) commemorated Latino Heritage Month today, hosting a workshop and demonstration of Mexican folk art in Chicago. Latino Heritage Month is celebrated every September 15 to October 15 to pay tribute to and highlight the contributions Hispanic Americans. Latinos are the largest minority group in Illinois at about 16 percent of the population.
