  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) officials, Illinois Representative Jay Hoffman, Illinois State Police and other transportation advocates will join forces on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Northbound I-255 north of Horseshoe Lake Road to discuss the effectiveness of speed indicator boards in interstate construction zones. Last year, the boards were used in the Metro East area for the first time to display the speed of approaching vehicles in interstate construction zones. The goal is to increase awareness and change driver behavior to help reduce the number of crashes in work zones. The boards are now being used in interstate construction zones throughout the state.
