  • The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service will celebrate National Service Recognition Day on Thursday, October 18. The Everyone Can Serve event will feature a parade as well as a ceremony at the Illinois State Capitol in which nearly 1,000 Illinoisans will be sworn in to rededicate themselves to another year of helping their communities through national service.
