  • Illinois Department of Transportation representatives, joined by state and local officials, today cut the ribbon to announce the completion and opening of a $1 million improvement project on Missouri Street in Harrisburg. The project included constructing concrete pavement and raising the street elevation to decrease traffic congestion and emissions, and to help ensure safer travel. Missouri Street also can now be used as the primary access road to the Harrisburg Medical Center in the event of major flooding.
