  • Illinois Transportation Secretary Ann L. Schneider, joined by federal, state and local officials, today clipped a ceremonial ribbon to commemorate the completion of a $23.5 million bridge reconstruction and single-point diamond interchange to serve Illinois Route 162 at Interstate 55/70 in Troy. The project created or supported more than 300 jobs and will reduce traffic congestion for motorists as it ensures safer travel, including widened overpass clearance to assist with oversize loads. The improvement project represents the single largest American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded transportation effort in Illinois.
