  • Kirby Avenue over Interstate 57 to be closed for Bridge Repairs

Description

  • The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that between June 4, 2012 and August 3, 2012, Kirby Avenue over Interstate 57 will be closed for bridge repairs. The closure will be between Cobblefield Road on the west and Holmstrom Street on the east. A detour route will be implemented using Staley Road, Windsor Road, and Duncan Road. Weather permitting, the project will start on May 21, 2012 with occasional lane closures on Interstate 57 to allow prepatory work underneath the structure. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained on I-57 and Kirby will be closed as discussed above.
