  • The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on IL 2 east of Sterling will begin on Friday, May 11, 2012. Northwest Illinois Construction Company is starting the $3.3 million project to improve the 3.7 mile section of IL 2 from 45th Avenue east of Sterling to west of Plock Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by late August.
