  • The Illinois Brownfields Redevelopment Grant Program (BRGP), authorized on July 1, 1998, offers grants worth a maximum of $120,000 each to municipalities to investigate brownfields properties. Brownfields are abandoned or underused industrial and commercial properties that are contaminated (or are thought to be contaminated) and have an active potential for redevelopment.
