  • The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that on Thursday, February 23, 2012, for one day only, westbound Interstate 270 will be restricted to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the Mississippi River Bridge and the Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge, weather permitting. This lane restriction is required to perform repairs to the damaged median cable guard and guardrail. Traffic will be guided through the work zone utilizing flaggers, traffic control devices, and traffic control signing. The contractor on this project is Walsh Construction of Chicago, IL.
