  • Illinois Route 50 and I-57

Description

  • The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that weather permitting, the existing bridge beams carrying I 57 over IL 50 will be removed on the nights of February 1st and 2nd, 2012. Illinois Route 50 will be closed intermittently up to 15 minutes in either direction during the hours of 10 PM and 6 AM. Closure of the traffic lanes will be necessary as beams are lifted out of place and will be reopened and traffic allowed to clear prior to the next beam being removed.
