Description

  • The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that construction work on the IL 40 bridge over the Rock River between Sterling and Rock Falls will begin on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Civil Constructors is starting the $27 million project to replace the structure. The existing bridge and all eleven piers will be removed. The new structure will be four lanes wide with a 10 foot multi-use path/sidewalk on each side and will have only seven piers.
