The FY 2012-2015 Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program STIP is a four-year program of highway and transit projects developed to fulfill the requirements set forth in the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 ISTEA and its successors the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century TEA-21 and the Safe Accountable Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act, Legacy for Users SAFETEA-LU . The FY 2012-2015 STIP totals $22.273 billion with $8.709 billion for highway improvements and $13.564 billion for transit capital improvements and operating assistance.
