  • The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has granted the Midwest Generations three Joliet and Will County stations provisional variances from National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit temperature limits. This affects Joliet Station 9, Joliet Station 29 and Will County electric generating stations. The variance is in response to recent extreme weather, with more hot weather forecast-ed, along with the low flow and high temperature conditions in the receiving water.
