- In the wake of last weekends flooding of the Jacksonville drinking water treatment plant, which resulted in the city's inability to provide safe drinking water, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Division of Public Water Supplies has been working closely, on a daily basis, with city officials and treatment plant operators to carry out the necessary steps to restore service.
