- CHIEF JUSTICE KILBRIDE delivered the judgment of the court, with opinion. Justices Freeman, Thomas, Garman, Karmeier, Burke, and Theis concurred in the judgment and opinion. Defendant Carmecita Williams was convicted of officialmisconduct (720 ILCS 5/333(b) (West 1998)), and sentenced to 24months probation. The appellate court reversed defendantsconviction and entered a judgment of acquittal, concluding that theevidence was insufficient to sustain her conviction.
