  • Mammography is a key tool for early detection of breast cancer. To ensure equipment used for these life-saving tests functions properly, personnel from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) inspect every mammography facility in Illinois annually. This program was recently commended by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) following the federal agency's annual review of the program.
