  • Illinois Transportation Secretary Gary Hannig, joined by local officials, announced construction updates for the extension of IL Rte. 255 and the widening and relocation of US 67. The $84 million in projects will extend IL Rte. 255 north to US 67 with new structures and pavement and will turn US 67 into a divided four-lane expressway from IL Rte. 111 to Delhi in Jersey County. The project is expected to support approximately 1,000 jobs, improve vehicular safety, reduce traffic congestion and provide a corridor for future economic development.
