  • A program will be held Thursday honoring Lilly Ledbetter, a leader in the effort toward equal pay for women, co-sponsored by the Illinois Department of Human Rights, Illinois Department of Labor, IL Human Rights Commission, U.S. Department of Labor Womens Bureau, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Chicago District, Cook County Department of Human Rights and Womens Issues, and the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations Advisory Council on Women. Guest speaker Ledbetter will share her story of struggle and triumph for equity that led to the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act by President Obama in 2009.
