  • The information contained in this comprehensive Executive Summary will provide the reader with a good sense of the difference between the original 2004 forecast for the Inaugural Airport Program (IAP) for the South Suburban Airport (SSA) and the updated 2009 forecast. For all intents and purposes, the forecasts verify the information presented in 2004 and deviate surprisingly little. The IAP for SSA is a proposal by the Division of Aeronautics of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to plan, design, construct and operate a new airport at the SSA site in eastern Will County, IL. This site was approved as a feasible location for an airport by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in their Record of Decision on the Tier 1 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for SSA dated July 12, 2002.
