  • In response to recent reports of violence, neglect, and sub-standard care in Chicago and downstate nursing homes, the governor charged his senior health policy advisor to convene a task force of executive-branch agencies that serve, protect, fund, arrange for, license and regulate nursing homes, their administrators, and other providers of care. To accomplish this, the task force carefully explored each agencys current responsibilities and potential for expanded efforts to assure safety.
