Description

  • Under the Illinois Pension Code (the Code), the General Assembly of the State of Illinois encourages the boards of trustees of public employee retirement systems to use Emerging Investment Managers, as defined under the Code, in managing their systems assets, when possible within the bounds of financial and fiduciary prudence. The Code also directs each system to submit an annual report to the Governor and to the General Assembly by September 1, detailing its activities in this area during the fiscal year. The following report is submitted jointly by the Illinois State Board of Investment (ISBI or Board), which directs the investments, and by the State Retirement Systems (SRS), which is responsible for the benefits administration for the General Assembly Retirement System, the Judges Retirement System of Illinois, and the State Employees Retirement System of Illinois.
