  • The FY 2009-2012 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program STIP is a four-year program of highway and transit projects developed to fulfill the requirements set forth in the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 ISTEA and its successors the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century TEA-21 and in the Safe Accountable Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act Legacy for Users SAFETEA-LU . The FY 2009-2012 STIP totals $16.584 billion with $7.4 billion for highway improvements and $9.184 billion for transit capital improvements and operating assistance.
