Description

  • The Illinois Uniform Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act 765 ILCS 1025/1-30 (Act) requires the reporting of all intangible personal property (and any earnings thereon) held by business associations and life insurance companies which have remained unclaimed by the owner for five (5) years be presumed abandoned. Therefore, all property held by these types of businesses with dates of last activity of December 31, 2000 and prior are considered abandoned and must be reported. The due date for filing the Annual Report of Unclaimed Property is May 1, 2006.
