  • Calendar year 2017 marked a shift for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ). Having successfully reduced the population of youth in IDJJ custody by over 44% in 2016, the Department turned to implementing several major initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for the youth remaining in custody and enhancing supports for those youth when they return to their communities.
