  • Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs will meet with lawmakers, university officials and students to urge Governor Bruce Rauner and the Illinois General Assembly to approve the Monetary Award Program (MAP grants) for the hundreds of thousands of students that rely on it to pay for their higher education. A news conference will be held on Wednesday, September 23 at 1 p.m. in the Blue Room at the James R. Thompson Center at 100 West Randolph St., 15th Floor in Chicago.
