  • The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has managed oversight and support of the 15-member commission since July 2010 when the duties and responsibilities for the states diabetes prevention and control program were transferred from the Illinois Department of Human Services by Executive Order 10-06 and legislation. Over the past five years, the priorities of the commission have been to restructure objectives and goals and to develop a five-year Illinois State Diabetes Plan to help reduce the burden of diabetes among Illinois residents.
