  • Illinois State Senator Jason Barickman (R-Bloomington) who is co-chairman of the Illinois Legislative Audit Commission sought and was granted subpoena power in matters regarding Governor Quinns embattled Neighborhood Recovery Initiative currently under investigation by federal and county authorities. The Legislative Audit Commission has a statutory responsibility to review the Illinois Auditor Generals scathing audit of the $55 million spent on the NRI program. Legislation calling for an audit of another $40 million spent on the program is pending.
