  • The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) today announced that the United States Department of Justice has obtained indictments against five individuals associated with Springfield-based Environmental Management Inc. for criminal charges relating to an alleged fraud scheme done under the auspices of environmental clean-up at leaking underground storage tank (LUST) sites across Illinois. Defendants are charged with conspiring to commit mail and wire fraud in order to illegally obtain millions of taxpayer funded dollars from the Illinois Underground Storage Tank (UST) Fund.
