  • Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) officials will be joined by the Illinois State Police (ISP), and other safety partners on Monday, August 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Foundation Booth in the Grandstand at the Illinois State Fair to honor workers who have lost their lives in work zones. The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) National Work Zone Memorial Wall; a living tribute to the memory of the men, women and children who have died in work zones will be unveiled. The organizations will also highlight strategic partnerships and effective strategies that have helped decrease the number of work zone fatalities in Illinois.
